Tree work

Tree service in Winter Haven, FL

Trimming that keeps trees healthy, removals done carefully, and storm clean-up when Florida weather does its thing.

Sounds familiar?

  • Limbs over the roof
  • A dead or leaning tree
  • Palms full of brown fronds
  • Storm damage in the yard

Tree work, done with detail

Trees shade the house and frame the yard, until a limb hangs over the roof or a dead oak becomes a hurricane worry. Tree service covers that whole range: tree trimming to lift and thin the canopy, removing dead or crossing limbs, and full tree removal when a tree has to go.

Palms need a lighter touch. UF/IFAS advises against the tight "hurricane cut" that strips green fronds, because palms need those fronds to stay healthy. Trimming takes the dead and hanging fronds and seed stalks, and leaves the rest.

Hurricane season runs from June through November, and the best time to deal with risky limbs is before a storm, not after. After a storm, clean-up means downed limbs cut, hauled and the yard put back together, and land clearing handles the brush and debris when a whole corner comes down.

Every tree job ends the same way: debris hauled off and the lawn cleaned up. If the trees were shading out the grass, lawn care brings it back, and a cleared corner is a good spot for new landscaping.

Questions

Tree work: common questions

Should palms get a hurricane cut?

No. UF/IFAS advises against removing green fronds, because palms need them. Trimming should take dead and hanging fronds and seed stalks only.

When is the best time to trim trees in Florida?

Any time for dead or dangerous limbs, and ideally before hurricane season, which runs from June through November.

Do you clean up after tree work?

Yes. Limbs and debris are hauled off and the yard is cleaned up before we leave.
