Fencing
Fence installation in Winter Haven, FL
Privacy for the back yard, a safe run for the dog, a gate that actually latches. Straight lines, solid posts.
Sounds familiar?
- A leaning or broken section
- A new dog or pool
- Neighbors too close for comfort
- A gate that will not latch
Fencing, done with detail
A fence is one of the few yard projects you will look at every day for years, so the layout and the posts matter more than anything. Fence installation starts with the property line, where the gates go, and what the fence is for: privacy, pets, kids or just a clean border. Hall Environmental installs all four common types: wood, vinyl, chain link and aluminum.
Florida sand and summer storms are hard on fences. Posts set deep and solid, and hardware that stands up to the humidity, keep a fence straight long after it goes in. Repairs cover leaning sections, broken pickets and boards, and gates that sag or will not latch.
Before a new fence goes up, check with your homeowners association and your city or Polk County on height and permit rules, and have the property lines clear. If the fence line is buried in brush, land clearing opens it up first.
A new fence frames the yard, and it is the right moment to tidy what is around it: landscaping along the line, trimmed trees overhead, and regular lawn care to keep the edges sharp.

Questions
Fencing: common questions
Do I need a permit for a fence in Polk County?
It depends on where you live. Check your city or Polk County and your homeowners association for height and permit rules before a new fence goes up.
Can you fix my fence instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Leaning sections, broken boards and sagging gates can usually be repaired. If most posts are failing, replacing it is the better spend.
What kinds of fences do you install?
All four common types: wood, vinyl, chain link and aluminum. The right one depends on what it is for, whether that is privacy, pets, a pool or a border.
